Default hpi leaky shock.. ?

so i'm still a little new to the "scale" crawling world, i have an hpi crawler king and a few nylint crawlers. i took the CK out this weekend and did a little crawling around, when i flopped it and went to flip it back over, i noticed one of the front shocks had leaked all down the shock and on to the axle.. what would/could have caused this? how do i fix it?
thanks!

ok, i'll do that. never taken an rc shock apart before..!
is this a common problem with the CK? i wheeled it a little
bit while i was overseas, but since i've been home i've wheeled
it a little harder, and now i have a shot out shock!

there real simple, take the bottom spring holder off, remove the spring and unscrew the top of the shock. remove the bladder under the cap if there is one and see if its damaged. then check the others just in case.

cool, thanks! i'll probably tackle it tonight after work..
i want to start modifying it, gear reduction, esc, tires, wheels, lights, accessories and all! just bought the steering servo mount for above the front axle, hopefully that will drastically improve the steering!?

i bought a new set of 130mm shocks for my hpi CK. i know it comes stock with 120mm ones, will the longer ones help or hinder the perfomance, articulation, flex, ect of the rig?

i got the axle mounted steering servo mounted and hooked up last night! makes a big difference in turning ability on the crawler!!
now i'm waiting for my new shocks to come in!
i've also been thinking about getting the gear reduction kit for it so i can crawl up anything instead of hauling a$$ up it!!
hopefully i'll get some pics of it up soon!

Check the O-rings, HPI shocks have been notoriously leaky for me in the past.
Teflon tape works well on threads to help stop some leaks

i'll look into that when i take them off to install the new ones!
i got 130 mm travel shocks to replace the stock ones. will this
make any big difference, good or bad, in the performance/articulation
of the rig?

Probably will be better articulation, if the new springs are not stiffer.

I've been having some shock leaking problems to, from Hpi.

so i got my new shocks in yesterday and got them put on the CK!
they are a lot beefier than the stock ones, but i'm not sure if i like them or not..
they are very stiff, and slow to droop and compress. makes it hard to flex up and over stuff.
the good thing about them is there is no more axle wrap!
they are the integy 130mm shocks...
