Axial rtc or losi night crawler...
 
Debating between the axial rtc and the losi night crawler. I want something rtr, easy to use, works well. I would like to hear opinions on the 2. Pros and cons. Etc. for the most, what do you think of it out of the box? Thanks guys...

i would say night crawler because you don't need to upgrade a lot to but the axial you need to upgrade a good amount to get it up to the standards and strength of the night crawler and the night crawler out the box hos cvd's and a lot more steering

I vote for the Axial RTC because of the aftermarket support and it is a better truck over all."thumbsup"

i would have to second the vote on the rtc axial over losi the aftermarket support is unreal with axial you can start out with rtc and upgrade it into anything you want it to be i own 6 axial trucks and love them all you cant beat there performance

I am going to have to be the third vote for the Axial RTC...

I got a Losi Night Crawler first. Its a fun rig, yes. But, its not for anything other than crawling unless you upgrade it.

The Axial rigs can crawl, and have a bit more speed to them. Great for trail riding. I got my first Axial rig yesterday. Its a blast! Its not racing speeds, but it beats the speed of the LNC.

Also, as stated already, you can customize it to be any rig you want!

I'd say stay away from worm gears until you get a good bit of driving under your belt...after running a comp crawler for 2 years, I can confidently tell you that they're quirky to say the least. (I still run them but I also run Bully axles as well)

axial rtc hands down. i got a lcc for a parts rig for my ax10. the rtc is built way better than the lcc.

This, the only advantage I found with my Axial was that it had more wheel speed than my Night Crawler, even with the E-Maxx motor I've got in it now, but all I did to make my LNC a sportsman rig was add weight and memory foams to the wheels, change to the above motor (If you go that route, get the reverse wound E-Revo motor"thumbsup") and geared down, pulled the rock lights and move the front control arms on the chassis. I also swapped out the body for a different one and have since added the servo lowering kit and clocked C's, but that is all I've done to that so far.

If you think you may want to make it a scaler at some point, go with the Axial, otherwise I prefer the LNC/LCC.

I definitely don't want a scaler. I want a crawler. I have a nitro revo for going fast. thanks fit your inputs, now I have to make up my mind....

man go with axial rtr those are no mean to be to going fast and they crawl pretty good !! good luck "thumbsup"

I will admit,begining of season,out of the box,and sportsman class,with no desire to spend much money later, I would take a losi night crawler over axial.

That being said,the axial will out perform the losi by end of season,cuz theres virtually no limit to the performing enhancing parts available.

The performance of the losi can only be improved so much,the worms are its down fall in the end.

My first 2.2 was an Axial RTC, I wasn't a fan of everything I had to do to get it perform even close to my friend's bone stock LNC.. So I sold my Axial and got a Losi, making money in process and being very happy overall.

All I've done is add Rover White Dots ($25 for a set (4 tires) from CKRC), tire weights, a low end Hitec servo, Integy 35t motor (like $10 from CKRC, it's the old one) and a couple 3s lipos for $12 a pop.

I just picked up a LCC chassis off ebay for like $30 to improve my shock tuning abilities and help lower my CoG with better electronics mounts.

That seems like a lot, but it really isn't.. And I can hang with the big boys in my local Sportsman class any day.

LOSI hands down, very forgiving and out of the box it's ready to crawl, out of the box it is good but you want to drop HD gears, steering servo, esc and motor, id you do those upgrades you will own sporty class.

the losi is nice out of the box and with a few mods, i can be put in a comp with a $1200 rig and still keep up. i bought my lnc 1 month ago, so far i have 5.5 oz in each wheel and a traxxas 21 turn motor, this think crawls awsome, i place 4th in a comp with these two mods."thumbsup"

Best advice that I can give from one new b to another, find one used for a good price, doesn't matter which one, and have at it.

The votes are usually close to 50/50. You will find those that tell you the Losi is the only way to go and like wise you will find those that tell you Axial is the only way to go. The more searching you do the more confused you will end up.

But if you can find one used for a good price and end up not liking it, most of the time you will get back what you paid for it, give or take.

I personally found a Losi Night Crawler for a couple bills, came with everything and then some. Don't have much to compare it to but I couldn't be happier, no regrets. I am 99% certain i would feel the same way if i had found an Axial for the same price. Best part is that I know I will always be able to get out of it what i paid for it if i ever decide to go another direction.
