Default new to rcs(well electric)

had a nitro truck in the past but just got a losi night crawler that i sold before it was unboxed to get a wraith then picked up a slash 4x4 a week later. looking for some tips with these vehicles (anything from upgrades to batteries) or any other wisdom you guys have

Welcome to RCC, you should check out their sister site rcshortcourse for slash builds. The wraith section here has a beginners guide to the wraith that goes over upgrades.
In general though with the wraith you should look at upgrading theses items.

Move shock mount location to lower the ride height
Tierod and drag link
Better servo
Esc is decent but you could upgrade that and the motor if you want more speed.

LiPo batts ftw - longer run times, less weight, better voltage sag and new ones can be fast charged. Just be safe and read up on use/charging/puffing before using them. I try to stick with ROAR approved hard case batteries - they're supposed to be fire resistant, among other robust traits.
