Most of the giveaways are for star holding members. They specify in the rules of the giveaway what the requirements for entering are.

In the giveaway I entered, it was the "12 days before the 12 days of Christmas giveaways" and the site gave 12 stars away. After winning the Green star I could then enter ALL of the others.

Giveaway threads are big and scary. Just clicking on one commits you fully and there is no going back. I've heard that if you do, and you don't have a star, the vendor will come to your house and beat you with a broom.

I hear that if you click on one without a star that not only does the vendor come and beat you down but so do the mods and then you show up and just stare at them! Eerie......:mrgreen:

Alright... so my first newb moment. Sorry. But at least I didn't ask why I can't see the classifieds! To tell you the truth I've never actually read ALL of the rules. I've always just researched stuff as I came across it since this site has an overwhelming amount of information. Next time I'll read up on the giveaways before I ask about them. That way I won't waste you and the mods precious posting time with stupid questions. (then I won't get beat with a broom either?)

It really wasn't a stupid question, I just would of thought that curiosity would have gotten the better of you and you would have at least clicked on the thread and read what the giveaway was about. Its a rule that vendors have to post up that you need a star to enter the contest, and had you read that first post you would have seen it.

Its almost an unwritten rule that vendors have to post up that you need a star to enter the contest, and had you read that first post you would have seen it.

Unfortunately no. They said they'd never seen one actually cry before and hauled it off to have its memory wiped.
