I would like to make a tlt crawler but I have got about 400 to spend on the entire out fit. What would be the best way to convert a tlt into a crawler for that amount of mula? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I would say pede trans, a new chassis, like a sw2, jefferson, diaz designs, you those. Then get some good wheels and tires, and a good esc, radio and receiver, i dont now the price, but yeah.

Go to the vendors section, look at the chassis dealers, find one in your price range. Go for a traxxas tq3 and reciever, they are cheap and 3 channel. The pede tranny is a must. Next look for a lathe, they run about 20 bucks. Links, you can make your own for super cheap. You can find servos pretty cheap, but look for something with massive torque. Just remember, there are lots of little parts that youll need for the fit and finish. but you can do it easy on that budget. I'm only at 350 and i have 160 invested in a tube chassis. so just look around. Don't jump into a purchase, www.ultimatehobbies.com tlt kit 80 bucks
