I'm not saying there aren't some badass creepers out there built by some people that have dedicated a whole lot of time to get them that way. But it's just a fact that there's going to be more customer, tech, vendor support . And parts wether stock or aftermarket for the axial rig.

Save the headache and just buy an Axial. Mason is a dildo and by the time you have a good Venom it's all custom made anyhow. I've never had good luck with anything from Venom as a company. It seems to all be cheaply made crap.

last time i saw a venom creeper at a comp an axle broke on all 4 courses we ran. im a losi man but i do have an axial scx10 and ill say its pretty well built with factory parts. axial ax10's can do some amazing things, they whip my comp crawler all the time. axial and also losi have plenty of aftermarket support, i believe id go with tried an true like an ax10 for example.

Here is a better link to check out:

Something else new from Axial? The Ridgecrest...

The Creeper's only problem is the aftermarket support, or rather lack of aftermarket support. If you had to drive the AX as designed against a Creeper as designed the AX would have a tough time.

Keep in mind you'd have to run a 3-link against a 4-link, dogbones against CVD's and "no dig" against "dig".

That being said, the AX does have the aftermarket support, and all those parts are available. But all of you saying you have to put so much more work into getting a Creeper acceptable, must have forgotten how much work went into your AX-10's.

Since the Safari was mentioned in the first post, I would suggest the SCX Dingo Kit.

Yes and no.

I'm not trying to start a comparison war. The Creeper has a lot of problems out of the box but so does the AX. My point is that both of these trucks are "platforms" for your own ideas. You can make both of them better with DIY as well as aftermarket products.

My personal choice is the AX-10, but I also own a Creeper. I just get tired of seeing people who have never owned a Creeper, bash it because everyone else does.

I also get tired of seeing Mason's "Creeper Love" posts popping up everywhere. We get it....you like the Creeper! Now give it a rest.

RMD makes an inexpensive fix for that.
Actually, RMD makes a ton of stuff for the Creeper and supports the hell out of it.

My son bought a used Creeper, using ideas in the Venom Creeper forum he made a rather capable rig for not a lot of money.

Frankly, for someone new, I would also ask 2 questions:
1-What parts does my LHS stock (or can get easily)
2-What do others "local to me" run so I can ask questions/get local support.

Having the "biggest baddest meanest Mother effer rig on the planet" means almost nothing if you have no local support and all parts have to be ordered.
Especially if your RC experiance is limited.
Just saying.

I guess my comment on what to get is, most of the RTR's have very basic electronics. While that means a bit less expensive, they are usually limited in what they can do and how well they can do it.
Looking for a complete roller & then buying better electronics may be a better bet.
Again, a decent LHS is a plus here.

And everything he makes is strong, quality, and cheap.

Too many to list for both. Every truck has problems, but the day we start getting perfect trucks will be the day RCC shuts down, because then what would we all have to talk about?
