Default Tx/Rx recommendations for Wraith

What would you guys recommend for a good tx/rx to put in a Wraith? Looking to spend around $150 or less.

Well, assuming you dont need a bunch of extra channels for accessories, the Flysky GT3B is only $35 and receivers are $7 each.

X2 to what Jeremy said. But if you have a whole bunch of rigs that are already Spektrum, Futaba, or whatever I'd suggest you stay with that brand. I like the Futaba 4PL by far the best transmitter for the money I've ever used! Great for scale trucks with a lot of channels, MOA rigs, and also my Baja when I want to add front brakes!

Plus half of my cars/rigs are Futaba the other are Spektrum. I've had better luck with Futaba. My DX3s would require me to re-calibrate to the RX sometimes then re-calibrate the ESC again. Sometimes after re-calibrating the ESC I get paranoid my LVC is off and I don't have a laptop or field card to double check.

I was thinking either the 3PL or the DX3C. Both around my price range and 3 ch.

What do you think? 3PL seems more crawler friendly.

I would go with the 4PL. The third channel,on the 3PL is non-proportional. It is either right or left.
Not the best choice for a winch or dig. My 3PL is moving from the wraith to My Exo Terra because it only needs 2 channels.

The flysky does have a nice feel, it doesn't seem like a cheap radio at all. If you don't plan on having more cars, a Spektrum DX3e is a steal and works great. I haven't gotten to try a DX3c yet...

I too have a Unmodded FlySky and love it.

When I first heard about it I couldn't believe you could buy a 2.4 radio for 40.00.

I had to try it out.It works great, feels solid and the receiver is less than half the

size of my older Futaba .

Buy one and don't look back.

In my opinion I recommend either a GT3B or 4PL.

I have had plenty of Spektrum radios (3) but honestly they have the worst value for the money of any radio...

I would first choose a brand and plan to stick with it. When you buy a radio you sort of lock yourself into that brand as you get more vehicles and buy more receivers. So in a couple of years from now if you want to upgrade to a nicer system of a different brand it will be quite expensive because you will need to buy receivers for all of your kits.

Last year I converted from old Spektrum stuff to a Futaba 4PL. If you can swing an extra $100 I highly recommend this system. IMO it is the best radio for crawling and doesn't break the bank. I run two crawlers, race buggy, and a baja on it and love it.

If you want to save a little money Spektrum does make nice equipment for the money, but Futaba fit, finish, and feel is without a doubt better.
