HI, to every one. New to crawling so bear with me. I was looking at the Venom Creeper crawler ready to run kit B from ckcrawlers. One person said that I should stay away from ordering from that site. He told me to read the forums to see why. I have not found anything about them anywhere. Any help with that would be cool. Also is that kit from there site ok for something to start with? Specs; Venom Kit Ck stage 2 suspension set of Hot Bodies Rover tires Futaba 2ch radio ck aluminum servo arm Tazor or Intellispeed esc Onyx 6 cell 1800 bat and charger Venom 55t motor Let me know what you guys think. I don't want to buy junk! If I can help it |

The packages they put together are great for people who don't want to research stuff on their own. There are better options out there if you take the time to do some legwork yourself. Their reputation is hit or miss. People within 200 miles of their store seem to get great service, most of the rest of us, not so much. Personally, I won't even visit the website. There are much better vendors with hugely positive feedback that IMO are more deserving of my business. RPP and TCS are the two that I shop at the most. As far as the list goes, the only things that are worth a crap are the tires (Rovers are very good) and maybe the servo horn. Everything else is very basic and will not allow you to grow into your rig. Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 03-19-2012 at 01:36 PM. |

Here would be my basic but ideal Venom list: Venom kit white dot Rovers Crawler Innovations foams Sidewinder v2 esc Holmes Hobbies 35t motor Hitec 5645 servo (comes with an aluminum arm) 1300mah lipo battery and charger Flysky gt3b 3 channel radio Most importantly, I would take time to read through some of the Venom build threads and learn as much as possible before doing anything else. A well tuned truck with basic upgrades will outrun a crappy tuned truck with all the bling in the world. Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 03-19-2012 at 01:46 PM. |

I have heard the same thing many times and even some members have it their sig. However no one can tell me why nor have I found any threads with these horror stories about CKRC. I'm always on a budget when it comes to RC and they have some of the best prices around, so I look on their site site first when I need something. Most of my orders with them have been trouble free with fast shipping but I have had a couple small issues but nothing terrible. For example once an order was not complete and I contacted them by email about the missing parts. An hour later I had a response with an apology and a tracking number. They didn't question my honesty or any other BS they just fixed the problem. Another time their site was down and when I emailed them about an ETA on getting it fixed they called me at home explained the problem and took the order over the phone. Until someone can explain to me what CKRC has done that is so bad I will continue to order from them without hesitation. |

I gotcha a noob tube right here Working on passing a kidney stone today so I only got through 3 pages of that link. Looks like most of the problems are shipping and I can see how some would say it's hit or miss. Some of the complaints about how people where treated sound bad too but they have never been anything but nice to me so it makes you wonder what really happened. When someone starts out with " I sent them an email and was nothing but polite" that usually means they weren't. The way people talked I thought they had done some horrible thing but you can find the same kinda comments about all venders rc or otherwise. I guess people will have to make up their own minds on CKRC. Edit: Not reshipping until you have returned the wrong item has been common since Estores started. It's not the rule and is frustrating when you need it but very common. In this day and age of scammers it's just good practice. When I sold RC parts I did the same thing unless I knew the person or knew they were a frequent customer. Putting the wrong parts in the box in the first place though is blowfull and shows they don't always double/triple check their orders before closing the box. Can't excuse that. | Re: where to shop Has CKRC done anything truly terrible? No. They don't eat peoples babies or dress up like nuns and sell crack to school kids. They do seem to be fairly indifferent when it comes to shipping and customer service. There are other companies that do a far better job at keeping customers happy and making sure that they receive the right parts in a timely fashion, and those are the ones that I (and many others) prefer to deal with, even if they are a buck or two higher on their prices. A little extra $ for peace of mind is well spent IMO. To the OP: There are also many, many niche vendors here on RCC. I know there is one that specializes in Venom parts, and ought to be one of the first people you consider when you go shopping. |

They did do something horrible to me. I used my secret account to pay & had it shipped to work & they called my home phone & left a message that my parts were back ordered and my wife got the message before I got to it. Busted. that's worse than eatin' babies. P.S. I like RPP & Tower in that order. Last edited by DRW-FJ40; 03-19-2012 at 03:03 PM. |

CKRC has a bad habit of selling rc4wd blems or first run products that have flaws. You can ship them back to rc4wd and have the updated version sent back free but what ends up happening is you pay for shipping to rc4wd and wait a lengthy amount of time to receive your stuff. Big hassle.

Secret banks accounts are futile. Eventually they will always find out, and the longer its been going on the worse the reaction will be. Suck it up, be a man, and ask permission to spend your own money. |
