Default If I change motors do I have to change my ESC?

There is the set up I have, but unfortunately I fried my motor (I have no idea how) but if I get a Novak 18.5 brushless can it run off the ESC there?

Losi: 1/10 Xcelorin S 17.5T Brushless Combo: Losi (LOSB9553)

Here is the motor I would like to get.

Since you're putting in a slower motor that will draw less power, yes, it will work with your new motor. According to the specs you linked to, your ESC is good for motors all the way down to 3.5T.
