| Alot of resistance
I have a honcho with 2.2 tsl's and a venom crawler esc with a orion 19t motor. When the truck is on the ground it is almost impossible to turn the wheels by rolling it on the ground. And when running if you go from full throttle to none the truck nearly does a stoppie. Also the truck gets really hot after about 5 min of driving. Anyone have a solution?

Check the mesh between the spur and pinion. You need a little lashback. Also, IMO, the 19T isn't a good choice for a Honcho with 2.2's. Something around a 35T would be cooler running, but that also depends on which spur/pinion you're using.

+1 on the above! If the gear mesh is good than you may have binding somewhere else in the drivetrain! What spur/pinion are you running? 87 tooth spur & 14 tooth pinion seems to keep mine running cool!

Remove the pinion or motor all together and see if you still have resistance. It should roll freely. If not then take off your rear drive shaft, try again, if not remove front drive shaft. Keep isolating each part till you find the restriction. Could be tranny, axles, bearings, motor, gears, shafts, many different things. Try removing one thing at a time till you find it. Maybe over tighened wheel nuts???

I have a Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster Pro 35T on my wraith. I set my pinion and spur mesh using the strip of paper technique. My spur and pinion mesh is fine. If I try to roll mine with the pinion and spur meshed, it is very hard to roll. If I pull the pinion off the motor, it rolls pretty easily. But, if I try to turn the motor shaft by hand, it's hard to turn. My TM Pro is brand new, maybe 15 min. of run time. As far as the "stoppies" and the heating up goes, not real sure. Definitely sounds like something is binding. As stated in previous posts, I would start eliminating different parts of the drivetrain and figure out which part is the issue - tranny, diffs, axles, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner |

with your crawler esc, you probably have the drag brake set full. this will cause the "stoppie" affect on really grippy surfaces. my honcho will stand on it's nose on concrete!! the heat issues are most likely due to your motor choice. |
