Default making links

Should I defeneatly use 4-40 threaded rod for these, or should I go bigger? Also, what size aluminum tubing would work as a good sleeve for the chosen threaded rod? If you know of a better link setup for a tlt just let me know.

Use the stock lowers from the TLT as your upper control arms or if you dont have the stockers use something like this.

For the lowers use these:

or

or

If you want to build your own then use these rod ends:

and 6-32 threaded rod for a much stronger setup than the 4-40 stuff.

Well, it does say 4-40 right there.

Personally I wouldn't use anything but a bigger revo rod end that takes an 8-32 though.

You sure those pushrods will work with maxx shafts and a stock chassis(for a little while)? If I do make my own links tho, what size tubing do I need!?

I just made a set of links using this method, and it works great. I used M3 screws and these rod ends. Works a treat

That's the method I used last time, but friends are telling me I should go with the other method. I dunno, maybe I'll do the same way, they seem to be really tough.

I've found the easiest way to do it. Is to get 3/16 brakeline, cut it to size with a pipe cutter. Tap the hole for 6-32, and then put a dab of loctite on a 6-32 screw, screw it into the end, and then just cut the head off with my dremel. Works good, super easy, never broken a link, and only bent one once. I use the same rod ends Grizz recommended.

I suppose everyone has their preferred method. To me, the simplest method is 6/32 allthread, some 3/16 aluminum tubing, some Traxxas rodends and my dremel with a cutoff wheel.
