Default 2.2 or Super?

Recently I have heard talk that people think that 2.2s will out perform supers. I do not own a 2.2 but I do have a super. I have only been to one comp so I haven't seen very much 2.2 action. But in my opinion I don't see how a 2.2 could keep up with a super.

a properly built 2.2 in many situations will outperform a super hands down...depending on terrain amount of room etc. during our last comp the final stage was both 2.2 and super class........the top 3 finishers on that course where 2.2's and 4th was a super. out of 12 rigs

They are evenly matched to a point. We run the same courses here in Colorado for the Supers and the 2.2 class, during our comps. But, eventually lack of wheelbase will hurt a 2.2 on big lips/ledges. Supers can get the front tires on top, but 2.2's can't.

Yeah, but there are situations where a smaller wheelbase and width will help. Such as descending a slope into a gulley, a 2.2 will drive through, while a super would get its front wheels stuck and roll over. Don't get me wrong, I'm building a super, I just want the other end of the scale to be seen.

had a super, ditched it in favor of a 2.2 , most people around here run 2.2 cause it's easier to find terrain to have fun on, and scale looks cooler . bigger rig needs bigger stuff to play on

ditch them both and run a 1/18 nylint there unstopable.
but seriously 2.2's are funner imo just for the fact that there is more challenging stuff to run on, and to make it real tough make a good scaler with leafs :-P

2.2 seems more fun. It is more of a challenge to get a 2.2 to crawl good. Looks more scale and easier to pack on a plane.

2.2 tires are cheaper, too! I run spongeless 2.2 imex pullers on my clod, and I love them
