Default looking to get into it

hey guys. i am looking to get into the scale scene of rc. i have a few other r/c so im not really new to the hobby, just crawling. I want to make myself a chassis. What type of metal should i use. and what esc set up should i run. im going to be mudding, crawling, driving on the beach, and some some mountain bike trails. i want a all around truck. not just strictly crawling. what motor and ESC should i use?

not sure on what electronics to use but for the chassis it depends. since you said that you want it to not just be a crawler i would do one like burrlytlt did

whatever you want to use, we have used anything from aluminum to lexan to brass to steel to tubing...

poke around a bit.. there are a ton of buildups in her that shoudl give you ideas as a starting point

if you have the equipment take a piece of 1/2 square tube bend it then cut it down the center thats how i build the csc1

or i could cut you two frame rails like i make for the CSC1 for very cheap and you could do the rest... itll save you from doing the really hard stuff.

Click the image to open in full size.

would basically just be the two chassis strips

usually scale is a compromise between aesthetics and performance. which is more important to you ?

you can make it out of whatever you can dream of!

yes aesthetics means appearance, the idea behind most performance oriented rigs scale or otherwise is to keep the weight as low as possible this usually means making as light a chassis as possible without compromising durability. then you add the weight to the wheels usually.
