Hi all seen this on the bay for a few weeks do a search for Polymorph.(wasnt sure if I was allowed to link to the bay so wont) I would think you could replicate rare plastic parts or use your imagination and make your own. I was thinking it might be usefull for all the scalers out there if it works anyone tried it.

What exactly is this stuff? Like a resin or moldable polymer of some sorts?

I remember seeing someone on an RC site, can't remember where, try it out. Was sort of like a tech article/thread. Pretty sure it was either here or scale4x4.

Right I must scour about I did a search of this site and found no results. I am wondering if this stuff could be used to make mould your own beadlock rims even. But might be worth trying a few scale parts first me thinks. Anyone else heard of it Found this store in the uk that sells although the bay looks cheaper http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...511&doy=search Polymorph Information: • The revolutionary plastic that melts in hot water • Heat up and mould by hand • Hardens as it cools - strong as nylon • 101 uses for DIY and model making Last edited by ede670; 07-29-2006 at 02:26 AM.

Sounds like some cool stuff. But there is one discrepancy I have found in the FAQ from the link that ede670 provided: Q) Is polymorph reusable? - Kevin Gough A) Yes. You just have to reheat it in hot water so you can mould it again. Q) if i were to form a holder of some sort from this material and the holder was to be warmed again at a later date would the material become malable again or does it temper once used? - brent A) the material cures once only - immersion in hot water or other exposure to heat will not make it malleable agian. Which is it? Does it harden permanently, or is it re-usable? Perhaps there is a length of time after the initial heating that you can re-heat it to make it pliable again, but then after it is fully cured it is permanent.
