I am new to crawlers, getting ready to build one out of my tlt. Im kinda on a budjet so i planned too build my own chassis plates and use pede sliders. But I dont have a pede trans and dont wanna drop the coin on one so I was gonna use a xxxt trans. But is that posiible? If so, how do you connect the pede slider to a xxxt steel bone-type drive cup? I also have a stealth tranny that I could use if it is any better, but it has steel drive cups too. Its not possible to use dogbones is it? They would just bind or fall out right? Ok... any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The stealth or the xxx-t is a better choice for a tranny in my opinion. Many have used both. Cut about 1/8 off the steal yokes on the tranny. Get some Maxx or Revo shafts. Drill out the Yokes on the Drive shafts so they slide over the Steel yokes on the Tranny. Then drill a hole in the Steel yokes so the set pin for the Drive Shafts go through. Thats it. Do a little search and you'll find much more info on this. Hope this helps ya out. Here are some links that may help. I've seen lots of posts asking about Revo shafts... Tranny Stealth tranny in modded TLT chassis... Last edited by run2jeepn; 07-30-2006 at 12:41 PM.

Ok man thanks... I can see what you mean after looking at the links you gave. So now I need to decide what to use to make my chassis and how to mount the trans. I thought about either modding the stock chassis or maybe using some 1/4 inch clear plexy glass. The plexy would be strong and cool looking. What do you think? I dont have any 1/8th aluminum plate or else I would use that.
