I have a HPI Wheely King that was experiencing traction problems. Today when i was out i only had one wheel spinnin (both axles are locked). So i tore into the axles thinking the gears were smoked...but what i found was the alminium 12mm wheel hubs were rounded out causing my problem. I switched back to the stock plastic hubs and its nice and tight. Anyone experience this happening or have an idea that would cause it to happen? |

I have this problem on my high speed RCs if the wheels nuts loosen off even a little. I've stripped out about a half dozen rims but not the hubs. If you have plastic rims I would think they would strip out first.

Maybe very, very old hubs? that maybe had metal wheels on them at one point in time. Its kinda impossible for plastic to ruin metal. |

They were brand new in the package axial alm hubs. The wheels are stock Wheely King, they are slightly beat up inside the hub but nothing extreme. I, also, would have thought that the plastic wheely would be messed up. I am clueless, but i ruined a set of alm wheel hubs... |
