| RC4WD wireless winch, Help!
OK so I seen a video on YouTube where a guy took the power wires from the winch rx and tapped them into the power wires coming off the esc, I did this but the winch doesn't seem to have much juice and its slow and twitchy... how can I fix this? My YouTube channel is MrLoudHoward1990 and I just put a video up showing what my winch is doing, I would post the link but am still figuring out my new tablet.

Can't see that working well at all. Many ESC's can't handle the amperage of a winch. The other issue is most ESC's only put out 5-6v and I believe the RC4WD winch requires 2S power. An external BEC would be my choice. |

^^^ yeah i told him he should add a BEC.. i took his rig home the other day and looked at it and the only thing i can think of is that the winch is not getting enough power that it needs so adding a BEC would supply it with more power.

You need to run a bec hands down

Everyone is saying BEC, but is there any reason why he cant just just run a y from the battery to power the esc and winch both directly from the batt?

Because I run stick packs and need the bec to send more power to the winch

Without a bec the winch only gets a fraction of the juice it needs

Well, you're not going to get more voltage from an external BEC than the battery pack can deliver. So, Kylar's plan would also work for you. It's the internal BEC of the ESC that can't handle the winch properly. So, $20 for a CCBEC or $XX for a second battery (preferably a 2S LiPo). |

Unless you use your winch ALOT, i dont really see why he would need a 2nd battery just for it, unless he was running 3s lipos(not sure if winches like the higher voltage). | |

I currently run 3S for my truck but have a 2S 450mah 30C for the winch piggybacked to the 3S and the winch runs flawless.

I got a RC4WD winch and I 'm wondering how people make it waterproof?
