2 cell or 3 cell lipo and charger esc tekin novak

I got my tax money and im switching to lipo i'm wondering if I should go with 2 or 3 cell right now I have a novak goat esc and novak 55 turn motor only good for 2 cell but was toying with the idea of buying a tekin esc motor combo to be able to run 3 cell lipo but is it worth it for the extra power. I have the old 7.2 big battery and I am moving the battery to the axle but it also looks like I can buy more mah in a smaller package in a 3 cell battery. I would have to stay in the 1300 mah range if i go with 2 cell bc the bigger mah in 2c the batteries are to big to put on my battery plate plus I don't want to have to change the battery every 15 minutes. Any help from you experienced guys would be appreciated.

I want to go to comps but for right now just back yard coarse crawling and wherever I can find rocks I'm still learning how to drive before I go and embarrass myself.

I'm also going to buy a venom charger that has external power supply and charges 2 batteries at a time is that a good charger?

its only preference, but I'd go with HH BR-XL, and a HH motor, up to 6s, wicked awesome units!!!! then go min 3s, or 4s.......whatever u can afford, i use a turnigy 4x charger, charges 4 batts does balance quite well, cheap, so far so good, had it a yr.......not a high end unit, but who cares, i spend elseware!!!

I bought the onyx 245 so until my novak esc blowz Im gonna stay with 2 cell I guess. how do you change the novak goat esc to the lipo channel?

You will find that most guys run a 2 or 3s.... i run 2s on my slower trucks and 3s on the faster setups...as for esc, IMO I like tekin and would take a tekin over a novak any day of the week.
