Default link upgrade with brand

Which link ends do you seasoned guys run no one seams to agree on the same thing. I am debating on traxxas ones but would rather have an opinion from someone who is experienced in crawlers BTW I have a 6.5 lb ax10

Personally, I run whatever I have in my parts box. But if I had to buy some brand new, I'd run the Traxxas rod ends.

Some of my buddies I've talked to said the traxxas ends flex better than a standard end and since I have doubled triangulated mine it doesn't seem to flex enough.

Not sure about the flex aspect, but I do know the balls are narrower on the traxxas ends. If you use the traxxas ends you will have to use a washer or two to fill the gap in the AX10's axle housing mounts.

As duuuuuuuude said, traxxas revo rod ends all the way. If you look at them then standard ones on rtr they are beefy as hell.

I'm fairly new to the hobby but I do like the traxxas ends and I have heard good things about makeing links out of delrin. I personally want to use some type of metal for my links but I am haveing trouble finding something that is durable and easy enough to tap threads on.

You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up some steel rod. Very durable and not too difficult to tap, just make sure you use good sharp tools. I've done a couple of scalers with it and have been happy.

If you're building a comp rig, I would go delrin if you don't want to fork over the cash for some custom titanium links.

Stay away from aluminum, at least for the lowers.

What size delrin do I need to buy that the 8/32 rod will fit in to make the links out of?

No smaller than 1/4". I would go 5/16" for lower links, maybe even 3/8".

Right now my lowers are high clearance and they hit the uppers when it flexes so is it better to have straight links?

Not always. Depends on what you are driving and how you have your geometry set up. That is an entirely different subject matter though...
