New to crawlers and scalers
 

Hey guy's been doing rc for awhile boats, rally, touring, dirt oval, ect. anyways looking at a good scaler that can tow. I'm looking at doing a truck trailer combo to tow my rally car.. any suggestions

a trailer you will more than likely have to build yourself.

Tow rig...all kinds of options out there, but most will need to have a hitch added - not something they typically come with.
So it kind of boils down to what look are you wanting? And how much money do you have to spend.

Do you want it to look realistic? (scale) or would just "capable" work for you?

for me personally - I would build what I wanted for a tow rig. Plenty of info here (and in other places) on drive trains, frames, bodies, etc. A bit of research will usually get you the info you desire.

If you're wanting to buy a trailer Dinky RC and RC4WD both have tandem axle trailers that look nice, I don't own either one but in the scale accessories section there is a build of the dinky RC trailer I think by carterfab and it certainly looks nice. Or you could build your own if you have the tools and time, just search the forum there are lots of nice looking homebuilt trailers. As far as the truck you have lots of options just depends on your budget and what all you want to do with it.

Big dog rc makes a nice trailer pretty pricey though

It would would be cool to build one military style with a pintle hitch to allow articulation for terrain. I tried balsa wood with tyco rc axal and put it behind a blackfoot needless to say, hauling a grass hopper with six cell pack,,,,,,four days of work was small tooth picks in 20 mins; if I did it today I use 1/4 square stock and braze it

If scale is the main consideration, I would suggest looking around at kit options of vehicles you like. There are many scale kits you can start with & get a vehicle you like the look of to start with (Toyota {trail finder} Unimog {Tamiya} Jeep {Axial} etc...) If you can't find a kit with the body or look you want you can start with about any scale chassis & modify till you get the body/look you want.
I would recommend the Trail finder 2 or SCX10 for a good scaler starting point

Thanks guy's, I'm looking at buying a Dinky tendom and doing some mods to it.. As far as tow rig i want scale Would love to find soming with a 4 door f250 body. I saw a tamiya cco1 that was mod'd with a older f 250 body on it.. My goal would to build a to scale Semi and trailer but my pockets are that deep..
