Threadlock on pinion screw? This is probably a completely idiotic newb question - but here goes anywho. Is it OK to put threadlock on the pinion screw? I've replaced the pinion on other RC's but I've never used before. Cheers, Doc |
Re: Threadlock on pinion screw? I've never used it on there, and it hasn't loosened up on me yet. |
Re: Threadlock on pinion screw? Yep, just don't use red and don't use a lot. |
Re: Threadlock on pinion screw? Got it... no red sauce and use a small amount of blue sauce... It was weird, my wraith took a tumble down a steep hill and the motor made its whiring sound but no wheel movement. So I disassembled it tonight and viola - the pinion was in the skid plate on the other side behind the transmission. Weird... Thanks again, Doc |
Re: Threadlock on pinion screw? I have used red on a couple pesky ones that backed off with the medium strength blue. I use a small butane soldering torch to heat it up when I want to take it out and the loctite frees right up |
