What are the tallest 2.2 tires

I'm pretty sure the Pitbull rockbeast II's are the tallest tire out right now@ 6" tall..

They are 5.75" tall.

You could run them but not very well. You would need better weight distribution, harden your axles and tranny, more power, etc. And yes you need a BEC.

2.2 Iroks are 5.83"x2.2"

Not sure if they're the tallest but, tallest I've personally seen.
