Default 3s pros and cons

Here is my question I have a custom built rig which is pretty heavy haven't weight it yet put its a good 7 plus lbs I'm tuning a ae2 esc and a 35t motor on 2s right now but want more power I have read on here that going to 3s is fine with this esc as long as I have a bec which I do. What would I gain by going to 3s or is it not going to help me much.

Just expect the motor to get a bit warmer as well.

If youre going to jump to 3s youre going to want to adjust your gearing, and check the temps on your esc and motor until you find a good balance.

my 27t motor gets pretty hot runnin just a 2s lipo. everything else is stock though apart from some super swamper tires and weight rings in the front axial beadlocks. not sure I'd want it to get much hotter.

I had a 20t and It would really get hot but I think it was the wieght of the truck and what I was trying to do with it. Because I put my dingos 55t in it and it would stay very cool just put the 35t in so I will run it a couple of times and see what it does heat wise before I upgrade to 3s

Going from 2s to 3s is going to be approximately %50 more power and %50 more motor wear. For slower, meaning 35 turn and up, motors it's not going to be a huge deal, as long as you gear down when you volt up to reduce the strain on the motor.

For go fast rigs with brushed motors running 3s munches brushes and comms in a few packs.

Your truck sounds like it is already a tank, but 3s packs are always going to be heavier than a 2s pack of equal capacity.

What are you currently running for gears?

Go 4s. Adjust everything else accordingly.
