Default Center mounted gearbox vs. Front mounted on the chassis.. Need info

Hi guys
I have a question that I could not find in search (if you know of a link please let me know). What is the advantages or disadvantages of running your motor and gearbox up front vs. In the center lower part of the chassis?is it mainly for scale looks? I know the motor is the heaviest thing on the chassis for the most part but it usually sits higher up on the chassis up front.
I run both my 2.2 ttc and 1.9 scaler on rock courses with a lot of steep ups and downs and of camber runs and at the end of this season will be building new rigs, I'm just curious if moving the motor and gearbox forward will be something I want to consider.

It's mainly for scale points but there could be some small advantage to running it up front... but not much because it sits up high.

It gives you more room for a full interior.

yup - more room for a full interior, which - if you comp - is more scale points...

only other "advantage" could be the extra weight over the front axle - but, since it sits higher, it also means higher CoG.

other than that - personal choice?

Center mounted only needs 2 driveshafts vs. 3 for front mounted + a transfer case...

yeah, mostly for people who want a full interior or a flat deck and the body cab does not go back far enough to cover the tranny.
