Think of 5000mah as gallons of gas. The larger the number, the longer drive time.

The amount of mah doesn't hurt anything. Just keep in mind what your paying for a 5000. If you can get 3 - 2500mah batteries for the same price, it might be worth changing them out more often. Just the way I look at it

I beg to differ. A 5000mah will be fawkin heavy and the only place it will fit is up in the chassis. I run 350mah in my comp rigs, 1000mah in my class1 and 2200mah in my wraith.

I agree with nigels world. It will be to heavy and you won't like the performance of your truck on the rocks. But what do you do with your truck? Do you drive it on rocks or do you just drive it down a trail?

I would also suggest considering LiPO instead of NiMH or NiCD. LiPO is a LOT lighter that NiMH/NiCD.
Check to see if your ESC has a LiPO cut-off, if not, get a LiPO low voltage alarm.

you will be highly disappointed with a battery that big in that rig. trust me i had one and all it wanted to do was flip over. id suggest as others get a few smaller ones and if your worry bout drive time go lipo. dont be scared by all the stories. jus have respect for them. i was there at one point and then said screw it and bought one for my ridgecrest and love them now. thats all i run. but id definitely look to getting a few smaller ones for the price of the bigger one.
