Not new to RC's

Been in and out of RC's,now looking to get back.Just purchased a SC10 the other day.What can you all suggest for batteries and charger for this?

I got my LiPo's and charging/storage sacks from valuehobby.
Got my Onyx 230 and my Team Checkpoint charge-through balancer (disco'd) from the scratch & dent bin of another online retailer.




Being that I have some pretty big LiPo's, (6,000 mAh x2, and a 13,500 mAh), for my next charger, I'd like a Hyperion EOS 0720i NET3-AD.

I like this setup I have been running this past year. However everyone has their own pro's & con's. Was a little expensive and had to by a squid for all the extra plug in's!

i would recommend venom pro 2 charger and venom batteries. i have the pro 2 charger and works awesome and user friendly charges all types of batteries and has connectors of every style. plus venom has really good warranty with all their products. and is relativily cheap for what the charger can do.

If you're gonna be buying a charger, you might as well get one that can charge all of your packs at once:

They also make a DC only version that is $50 cheaper if you've got your own power supply.

For batteries...Value Hobby and Turnigy nano-tech. For chargers, here ya go...you'll never outgrow this system. Cellpro powerlab 6 and a 24V 1150w 47A power supply.

My first LiPos were hardcase.
They haven't seen a ton of use, and I've been fairly meticulous about making sure they're stored at the proper 3.8ish volts (per cell). Well, I pulled 'em out to check on them and the plastic cases had bulged out. Voltages looked fine, but I had no idea what was going on. So, I gingerly removed one of the plastic cases and found no evidence of any shenannigans going on inside. The packs looked fine, but the cases didn't.

I understand and agree with the safety theories, which is why I chose hardcases for my first packs, but now that I've got more experience, I'd personally prefer to be able to visually verify whether the pack has puffed or not. I'll admit, the idea of putting a soft pack out in an unprotected area (on top of the front axle) did seem a little dicey at first, but when it comes down to brass tacks, the soft packs have proven themselves tough enough to take what I've dished out.
So, while I agree with the arguments for hard cases, I think I'd rather stick with uncased packs in my crawlers.
