I am almost done with my Dingo build. I currently have: Castle BEC Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Sport 35t motor(may upgrade to pro later) Holmes Hobbies BRXL ESC Hi-Tec HS-7955TG Now it's time to pick a Radio and Receiver. I am wanting to get a Spektrum DX3C with a SR301 3 channel receiver. I am wondering since I am new to this, is this easy to program? Is the quality good? Onto the battery and charger. I was looking at Venom 25c 5000 mah 7.4 and a thunder ac6 charger. I am wondering if that is the ideal battery for an SCX-10? Am I over looking anything? Will the stock transmission and driveshafts hold up until I can upgrade? Suggestions are welcome! Thank You! Last edited by hookem1; 01-23-2014 at 06:38 PM. |

I have the same receiver and transmitter, very easy to use actually brain dead easy to use. Also runs the same size battery but not that brand. Mine seems to work fine gives a good run time. I'm not stock anymore buy i would beleive it will hold up. some one will chime in if im wrong though(still consider myself a noob)

I run the same motor on 3s and I'm very happy with it. I run a 2200 3s 60c from value hobby. I would say run that motor on 3s. Also a 5000 mah is pretty heavy really depends what your set up for. As far as a charger the one you mentioned will be fine.

Thanks for the replies. Talmond, What run times are you getting with your 3s battery? Mainly just using it for trail riding and a bit of crawling. Thank you! |

For your battery, keep in mind the higher mah will equal run time, the c rating is the punch. I often run a lower mah rating and a higher c rating. A 2000-3000 mah battery with 35c or so, gives me at least an hour of run time with plenty of power (with a little less weight). I also mount my battery towards the front, mounted sideways on the chassis to get more weight up front. The stock battery location in the back made it roll over backwards on hills too easily. Depending on the terrain you will be on, the longer run times and heavier weight may work fine for you though. Sounds like a good start so far! |

With the 2200 3s I get about 30 mins of run time that's with pretty hard wheeling. You will definitely want to run your battery up front there's a few options how you decided to mount it | |

Thanks everyone for the replies. Thanks TrailSnail, I am going to go with a lower mah and higher c rating. Thanks talamond, gives me an idea on how long I will be able to run. Almost done with the Dingo! Pretty excited just started painting it today! Thank You! |

I have the dx3c. It is super easy to program and use. It has very detailed instructions on how to program everything.
