Default Newbie at crawling, which shocks to get

Hi, I'm new to crawlers and am building a crawler out of Wraith axles. Looking for descent shocks around maybe 110mm long. Nothing overly expensive. Any recommendations?

Traxxas Aluminum big bores with mini-t springs. Or Losi 4in Aluminum shocks.

Truth be told the stock Wraith shocks aren't that bad. They are one of the few parts I haven't had to upgrade in the two years I've had my Wraith.

Just be sure to get the kit take-off version from RPP's Ebay store for about $22 so you can carefully assemble them with AE's Green Slime on the O-rings, and deburr the pistons. They are smooth and hold oil rather well in my experience.

The RTR ones have all the same parts (well, stiffer springs) but are carelessly assembled, which is why you hear so many people complain about the Wraith shocks. Either the O-rings are knicked/torn on assembly, or a burr on the pistons causes a lot of friction.

Otherwise the Traxxas "big bores" (that really have the same diameter bore as their plastic shocks) are a proven performer. I have a set on a Rustler bash-car and they hold up well.
