Default Noob tire question

I am running 1.9 wheels at the moment and would like a larger tire, what tires have the tallest sidewall for 1.9 wheels? or are they pretty close the same height?

do you plan to raise the body or lift the truck to handle the taller tires?..servo upgrade in the front?...stronger drivetrain?..gearing changes?..do you want the truck to roll over much easier?

The new RC4WD Gladiator and Compass tires have a very tall sidewall as well as the Proline TSL SX XL. Basically, any really tall tire will have a proportional sidewall height.

Well I jacked my shocks up for max clearance but as we know that makes them stiffer and also gives my drive shafts a questionable angle as well so I would like to get softer play out of them by putting them back to a lower setting also giving the drive shafts a smoother angle, and then switch to a taller tire to make up for the drop. Maybe I'm wrong but I like to tinker any which way, plus I have had my eye on the TSL's for a while

Wow, you found a taller one then. I thought the MT TTC's were the tallest 1.9's. What are "Pangol tires"?

Well doesn't seem like I can talk you out of tall tires so ill do the best I can to help you use them.

1.) Buy some lift kits that attach to your shock towers..this will allow you to keep the shocks but raise the chassis higher... or simply buy longer shocks...most like 100mm

2.) Lift the body higher using the holes on the body posts.

3.) you can correct your pinion angle by making custom length upper links..The angle really isn't that great even stock and needs improvements anyway.

4.) Get yourself a much stronger servo as you will need it to turn all that rubber.

5.) make sure you check motor temps after the change...if its getting too hot then gear down on the motor pinion gear to bring it back to normal

6.) Expect to replace a few parts as they break with the added stress on them.

That's about all I can personally help you with.

Enjoy.

No name brand or numbers on them, just generic HSP crawler tires I guess.
