Shock Screw Up Anyone know the difference between the Axial Aluminum Shocks AX30090 and AX30103? I mistakenly ordered the AX30090 when I wanted the AX30103 Icon shocks. Is it worth returning them? I bought them from RPPHOBBY. Thanks for your help. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...WL._SX342_.jpg VS http://www.axialracing.com/assets/pr...jpg?1363720830 |
Re: Shock Screw Up look to be nearly identical IMO the faux reservoirs look to have different machining... and the Axial shock bodies look to be hard anodized/coated. whereas the Icons are bling shiny, licensed and likely cost more because. but that's about all the difference that I see. besides the steekers I'd personally choose neither. |
Re: Shock Screw Up Besides the looks: AX30103 has the AX30132 Polyoxymethylene machined pistons AX30090 has the pistons from the AX80032 parts tree. |
Re: Shock Screw Up No experience with the AX30090, but I can tell you that the Icon's leak just as badly as the regular plastic bodies SCX shocks. I suppose there is the possibility that the AX30090's are manufactured to tighter tolerances regarding the shock body inner diameter and how precisely the pistons fit, but I wouldn't expect them to hold oil much better. So it's not worth returning them as I think you got the better of the two varients. |
