Default Installed asiatees c hubs, now my camber is negative?

After installing these parts: GPM Racing Axial SCX10 Aluminum Front C-Hub & Knuckle Arm (Toe-In 5 Degree) - 4Pcs Set Black SCX019+021/5D

Is there a purpose for this angle? Or did I install it wrong? It looks wrong when I'm driving it around, but the hubs were marked R and L so I'm pretty sure I have them on the correct side.

Also, is there a metal replacement for the plastic gears in the transmission? Part# ax80010

Thanks for helping a newbie . This place has been an excellent resource.

Yeah that's really weird. Looks like you have a ton of negative camber:

Not Toe

Looking at the pictures on the website it looks like these are designed that way, sometimes the Chinese companies do weird stuff like this imitating better parts. All of the knuckles and C's from vanquish are "8-degree" in that the axis the knuckle turns on is tilted 8 degrees to reduce scrub, however the plane of the wheel / tire remains vertical. It looks like GPM attempted to do something similar but just half-assed it and only changed the C. It looks like the knuckles are pretty standard issue, so if you want to get it back to normal I'd pick these up:

*RCP*Crawlers*AX10*SCX10*2...

Or these:

STRC ALUM HUB CARRIERS SCX10 (2) BLACK

But I'd make sure those knuckles fit on the stock C-hubs first just to be sure.

For your transmission gears use these:

"GPM has announced to release the anodized optional toe in 5 degree c-hub, knuckle arm and turnbuckle for the SCX10"

Got to be their version of the 8 degree kingpin inclination set up and they don't know how to word it.

Which also means you have it on upside down.

I didn't even think about them being upside down.

I've had that same issue happen before too! Once I flipped mine the rightside up, it fixed the issue

I did consider they might be upside down but I assumed if I flipped them I would just end up with positive camber. Can't wait to tear it down tonight and see if that fixes it.

Your tires are on backwards too. Do you have them on L and R looking at the truck or as if you're sitting in the truck?

Here's Axial metal transmission gears --

The C-hubs have a kingpin angle. To have zero camber angle the knuckles have to create the same angle, just in the opposite direction. My guess is Post a pic of your hub without the wheel so that we can see.

Whenever you're talking about Left and Right of a vehicle, always picture/position yourself inside or behind, not looking at it from the front.

You don't have to peel your tires off the rims and reverse them; just switch sides.

I was curious because you mentioned the chubs say L and R on them but if you were looking at the front of the vehicle when determining which side to put them on, you may have reversed them.

I still honestly don't see how that will resolve your weird camber issue. Left and Right for chubs doesn't normally matter, actually. In your case, upside down would, but I would imagine that would just create positive camber.

Left and Right would matter for toe, but you have camber, not toe. Strange.

The c hubs have a definite angle to them even when not mounted, it was intentionally manufactured that way, though I have no idea why. When I get home tonight I will tear it apart and see what I can do, if flipping them doesn't help I will take more detailed pictures. Thanks!

Take pictures for us with the wheels off and chubs still installed and then some pics of the chubs themselves.

You win! The hubs were on correctly but the knuckles had a corrective counter angle that i didn't see when i was assembling it the first time. I'm all straight now, thanks everybody!
