first off i started out with a nylint1:6 and now am in the process of building my first "real" rc crawler. i purchaced a TLT-1 after alot of research, and thought hmm best babg for the buck, now for my questions... 1st is there a best way to set up a 4-link? so far i am following the rccaraction write up www.rccaraction.com/online_ex/tltrockclimber.asp and it seams to be o.k. any thoughts?

Just follow the article, its not hard to do.

I started out the same way with the 1:6 Nylint. Massive power/poor ground clearance. I started out with the rccaraction build and quickly found a lot of short comings. Poor ground clearance Stock tranny :-x and poor articulation. I got another set of stock chassis plates (ebay $4), and used the two plates with the rectangular cutout. I ended up cutting the bottom portion of the stock chassis just under the upper link location. Moving lower links up to there and moving the upper links to the rear battery plate mounting hole. I also drilled new holes for mounting the shocks (T-maxx 3.3) 1/2 inch to the out side of the rear bat/esc holes. Lastly I cut one side of the stock chassis plate to allow for horizontal mounting of my Traxxas Xl-5 tranny (1/2" alum spacers on either side for centering). This thing climbs vertically now. I also added 3ox of weight to each front tire. Just a thought.
