From what i have seen, brake tubing should hold up fine. Without adding to much weight.

for the weight of a tlt truck, brake line would be fine, but it you feel you need to strengthen parts you can run a peice of solid rod where you feel its needed. and still come out pretty light.

for the first exo that i made. i used solid rod. it was just easier to use for the first time. i have since used brake tubing ,lots lighter. i still like the solid rod exo better though. i was able to get some better tighter bends with the solid rod. i need to get a different type of tubing bender.

For an exo, I'd go with 3/16th and not 1/4. Saves you more weight and it really does hold up just fine to abuse.

You should be able to get it at your local auto parts store fairly cheap (not sure of exact $$$ though). - Chris

3/16 brake line is amazingly strong when brazed together properly.

checker auto parts.. i get the 3/16's for about 5 bucks for a 6 foot piece. The smaller stuff is plenty strong for an exo and looks more scale. On a scale tuber im working on i use the 1/4 for the main structure and 3/16 for the detail and braces. If you want to braze it together, lowes has brazing rod for a really good price and the tube they come in is FULL! Home depot has the same rod and the tub only had like 5 sticks in it where as the lowes tube had like 15-20!!! Mapp gas it and you'll be set.... (A vise comes in really handy since your heating the metal to like 1200 degrees!) I also keep a cooler full of water right there so when you are done you can grab your work and cool it down so you can keep going!!! Happy brazing!
