Default SW2 & 2006 Pede Tranny

I'm having trouble mounting a '06 pede tranny in a sw2.... the gear cover is in the way. Do you have to run it without the gear cover?

How do you mount the transmission? Just run screws into the plastic where the original hinge pins went? Use really long bolts w/ nuts on the other end?

Just curious how the experienced folks handle this simple task.

You can use the two 6-32 screws, and washers, supplied with the chassis to attach the tranny to the engraved chassis plate.

I use a few of the brass bushings from the tlt kit between the SW2 and the tranny to better line up the drive shafts.

Here is a picture for reference. You can see the washers that are supplied in the kit used to mount the tranny.

Thanks for the reference - I bought my SW2 used and didn't have the washers. The marks on the chassis looks like the last guy used the washers on the outside (w/ the etching).

Another question now that I see the picture. Looks like you don't run capacitors on the motor. I'm putting in a Rebel2 ESC and the mfg suggested caps. Any issues by not installing them?

You should be able to find some #6 flat washers are your local hardware store or hobby shop for cheap.

Caps on the motor will help prevent glitching. It's not mandatory to install them though. Try your rig out, if it gitches alot, installing the caps on the motor will help.

What he said.

I haven't progressed far enough to start putting my electronics together so that is why you don't see caps on there. My buddy has the same setup and his glitches so I'll probably be putting them on there.
