TLT or Clods are your best bet. Both can be built for alittle over $300 or lower if you find good used stuff. But you can easlly send over $1000 on either one.

I agree, but between those two, I think you can more likely build a TLT cheaper than a Clod.

Thats ture. The main differene is the cost of the Clod axles vs. the TLT kit. Which is around a $30 differene. Thats if you find a deal on used Clod axles.

I don't know about that . keep in mind there are less parts for a clod , no driveshafts or transmission . of course there is two gearcases but then again there are two axles on a tlt. I think the clod would be cheaper, plus the clod has been around for 20 years now . lots of experiment time .

TLT: needs a pede trans (generally) and shafts CLOD: needs an extra motor and sometimes esc Those can almost cancel each other out cost-wise. I still think a Clod would be more expensive. Wheels and tires alone are almost double what 2.2 wheels and tires cost. You can buy an entire TLT kit for less than a set of used Clod axles. The kit gives you tons of hardware for the rest of the build, whereas you'll need to buy additional hardware for the Clod. I'd be interested to see the lowest price for both rigs based on a everything listed using the least expensive new priced parts available. Using a torsion chassis for each will greatly reduce the overall cost of either one.

| Clod Axles used $80 Motor Mounts: $30 Motors: $45 Chassis: Pimp Cane $46.50 ESC: TR2 $75 Battery pack: $23 Radio gear: $45 TQ3 E-bay 2.2 Wheels: $12 2.2 Tires: $30 Servo: $17 Tower Pro 955mg Body: $25 Pinion Gears: $10 Grand Total=$430.5 TLT-1 Kit: $70 Motor: $23 Tranny $50 Shocks: $30 Chassis: $45 Drive Shafts: $15 E-bay Body: $25 radio gear: $45 E-bay Servo: $17 Tower Pro 955mg 2.2 Wheels: $12 2.2 Tires: $30 ESC: $75 Battery: $23 Gears Spur and Pinion: $10 Grand Total= 470 Prices on both can be cheaper finding better deals and running a cheaper ESC. Or reusing stuff you have laying around. Also on neither of those did I add steering links or hiem joints. The TLT kit comes with stuff you can use for this. | Those prices can very big time. Most could build a TLT Cheaper then a Clod. If you can still pick up a Moped ESC that can drop the price on both $30. |

You can also just cut the stock tlt chassis and use it insted of buying a new chassis if you are just starting out.

it depends what you are going to do with it too. if its going to be a comp crawler or scaler i would go with the tlt (great 2.2 rig) if you want a super i would go with a clod as a 2.2 i think its over kill. all the hop ups that people use on a cloud just to make them strong ends up being big bucks. plus the TLT IS GGGRRREEEEAAAT!

Unfortunately, there are ZERO RTR crawlers. They are built from something else. And before anyone says it, Nylints are NOT an excuse for a crawler.
