Default Wannabe New Crawler

I know there is a lot of information here...and when I say a lot...is can't wrap my head around it all. Lol

I have part of an ax10 laying here I got from a friend. SWX chassis and front and rear axles. Not a lot I know, but I need to go from there on a budget build to just bash around with.

Hardware parts I think I can figure out. But it has been around long time since I have been in the RC world. I used to race offroad trucks back in the 90's. Lol

Looking for some general ideas on motors. 35t or what? Brushless or not? Lipo batteries or what?

Any recomendations on a cheaper controller and reciever?

I know this is a very broad question that will get many different answers.

Spectrum dx2e cost about 60 bucks .. Brushed motor from Holmes hobbies and a br mini from Holmes hobbies .. At least a 7954 hitec servo anything less is a waste .... 35t is average but dudes are running 12t theses days so it best to do 35 to mess around and not compete ... Lipo is the only way to go ... A turnigy nano tech from hobby King ...450 mah 65-130c battery lasts about 7 minutes and it's tiny costs about 8 bucks ... Buy a few .... After that it comes down to what you want it to do .. If you get really into it there's plenty of us that will help you build axles and if you want a modern chassis just ask there's a few really good ones out that won't empty your wallet and make you a contender
