Default EC3 connectors

Would EC3 connectors be ok for running 4s? I initially planned on using Traxxas connectors but after several (and I mean several) failed attempts I think I'm giving up on Traxxas style. The mamba esc wires seem way to big for the connectors. What's everyone using?
Coming from. Helicopters I always used ec3 or ec5 so that's what I'm used to.

I used Traxxas connectors on my Mamba as ALL my lipos have em. Heat the connector tab by itself with the iron first before soldering the lead to it. The leads are a snug fit in the connector housing but they fit. one thing is make sure the wire and connector are exactly in line or you will have trouble putting em together.

I use Xt90's. Great durability like the EC5's (I used to use them) but they can be re-used. Current capacity with them is above and beyond what you'll need for the YXL.

I use Deans on (almost) everything, but honestly I think all the mainstream connectors should work fine. Everyone just seems to have a preference on ease of soldering...

X2
I have used Deans for 10+ years and would not put any another connector on until i used Castle Creations 6.5mm in my Losi XXL. Every new battery, ESC or new build will get CC 6.5's. I like EX5 but my fat fingers like the CC's better. The only downside is the amount of solder needed but for a few $$ more than a EC5 and up to 200amps, to me it is worth it.

Default EC3 connectors

I used EC5's running my Yeti XL on 4S. They are rated for 120A (use 10AWG). EC3 is rated for 60A (my first RC came with EC3's so I've stuck with that line)

Here's a good site with a lot of maths to help you decide: http://multicopter.forestblue.nl/lip...alculator.html

My mamba monster 2 can peak out over 100A. My 2S 8000mAh 40C LiPos can each hit 320A. 160A connector seems like the better choice over a 60A connector

I ended up finally getting the traxxas connectors to work!:for:

It took a lot of patience and I finally got it figured out.
I figured that was worth the patience rather then switch out all my batteries and other esc. Thanks for your help.

I, too, am coming from helicopters. It is easier for me to have one connector style. I use Dean's and have been happy.

I used Deans for years since they first came out and were the best thing around, now not so much. I've switched over to XT60s and buy in bulk at hobbyking.com way easier to solder than Deans (star connector whatever you want to call them) plug together great, way easier to grip and un-plug, best connnectors around except it you need more amperage then XT90.
