Default Upgrading Axial yeti score

Hi I have a question about upgrade a RC car... I am looking to get a axial Yeti score trophy truck and was wondering if I could upgrade the motor to match speeds or become faster than my brushless edition erevo and if so what would be the best way to go about it thanks

It's pretty simple to get the yeti faster than an erevo. However getting it to survive for very long at that speed is another problem. Speed is all about gearing, tire size, motor kv and batteries. Running the biggest pinion you can fit, with a 2200kv motor on 6s will get you going pretty fast. However you can't just bash around like that. It'll overheat the electronics and you'll probably melt the trans case or disintegrate bearings lol.

ultimate speed is not what the yeti is built for. For that, buy a traxxas slash and throw money at that instead.

X2 to what dna says. If "as fast as my E Revo" means 65 mph, You're probably going to break lots of stuff. That's just not what the Yeti/SCORE were designed for. I'd recommend reading up in the Yeti section. You'll find lots of good info on the known weak points (e.g., a-arms, steering rack, links, rear axle housing and locker, etc), preferred upgrades and setups. My son's Yeti with all of the usual durability upgrades probably runs somewhere in the 30s on 3S and has held up well to moderate bashing. It's a fun truck for what it is with that setup, but I wouldn't try to get twice that much speed out of it. Good luck!

I have both. Well almost ...My slash 4x is a 2650/MM2 powered missile with gears, clutch, MIP's on 17mm 2.8trenchers.
I also have a Yeti, upgraded everywhere... As newrocks said its a great rig at 30, more speed and you will spend $$$$$$$ fixing it. I prefer my yeti for a trailer that climbs, and I can upshift to go up the road ......

Not to mention it is a lot heavier by pounds, that alone slows it down
