Hardware store usually don't carry Delrin. Your best bet is a plastics distributor, if you can find one locally. I don't think plexi glass will work as good as Delrin, as it's fairly brittle. I guess it depends on how thick it is though. |

Enco (use-enco.com) has some black acetal (Delrin) rod, among other raw materials. http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INLMK32?PARTPG=INSRAR2 |

Has anyone heard of a Plastic thats really more Silicon then really plastic call Master Flex? They use it for making Prosteditics ( Spelling?) limbs and things. It's a very soft plactic but almost impossible to tear. Very flexible.

My local plastics distributor (found in yellow pages under plastic) even had a bunch of scraps which were still appropriately sized for what we would use them for. CHEAP!!! I'm sure any of the local distributors have something similar laying around.
