Read somebody here on RCC had loose fitting servo horn, supposed to be 25 spline. That and seen lots of peeps spend cheap on servo several times, lots of lost crawling time too.

Futaba 3PV 3ch. FHSS or Fubata 4PLS 4ch. T-FHSS.

Any opinions?

Thanks
I'd take a look at the Airtronics/Sanwa MT-4/MT-4S if you think you'll never need 4 channels or an analog third channel. It has a thumb stick that I use to steer the rear of my Axial SMT10 monster truck. It can be used for other things as well. You can also get waterproof receivers. They don't come cheap though.

That was Jato in the cheap servo thread. My go to axial fit like a glove, and worked perfect, go look up my thread .... no servo issues, but did loosen everything else up with the torque.

Like Mike said, that was me. It is 25 spline. My servo horn was a non clamping Yokomo that was loose, but it fit snug on the Turnigy servo. It could be that the QC is not strict with the tolerances of the EVO P2 servos. I guess time will tell.

Until recently, I bought cheap servos exclusively for bashers, crawlers, and racers and in my years I've smoked 4 servos. One was a POS CYS servo from CPE. That thing stripped during a test run and they wouldn't do anything about it without shipping it back to them. Photos weren't good enough. Not worth the time and money to send back a $20 servo so I ate the cost and swore off CYS and Crawford. those guys.

One was a Turnigy servo that I had in my B5M. Learning to drive a buggy fast involves a lot of crashing and I'll take the blame for killing that servo.
Another was an all plastic geared servo I had in a drift car. I wiped out into my garage and that took care of that servo.

The most recent was the Turnigy servo that I stripped in my Ascender.

I never waterproof my servos and submarine them and I've never had a single issue burning one out in a crawler.

If I pay $50 for a servo and it lasts at least a year I consider that a success. I've had $20 servos last 3+ years. I have very little downtime caused by servos because I keep at least one Solar D772 on hand and in my trail backpack. Sure, it's a gamble to buy cheap servos, but I've had good luck so far.

EDIT: I take that back. I bought an RC Gear Shop servo from Tower Hobbies that was junk after one or two runs in my Bomber in my back yard. Tower Hobbies replaced it, no questions asked, because they have awesome customer service and I never had a problem with the replacement. So that's 5 servos I've killed over the years and I'd say all except this one and the CYS servo were killed by me.

Just ordered a new Futaba 4PLS for my new bomber.

Now the wait begins.

3S lipo, no more than 3500mah to keep weight down, I'd go with around 2200 to 3000mah personally.

What about the Flysky #GTB FLY SKY FS-GT3B Digital 3-Channel 2.4ghz TX & RX LCD Transmitter & Receiver

It seems pretty good.

Just curious what makes the GT3C the best choice

THey are both good radios, but the newer FS-GT3C is a nicer radio with better battery.

During this new bomber build I replaced the stock locker with Lockedup RC F1 spools. My question is the spool came with a metal spacer with a slit in the spacer. Do I need it and what is it for?

thanks

Try posting this question in the Bomber section. Many people are running that excellent locker. I have Holmes Hobbies lockers, no spacer. Also you can contact Locked Up - they are just outside Austin.
