Would it be a problem if I install a speed pack 2400mah 8.4v 7-cell ni-mh battery into my ecx barrage? Or well it burnout the motor?

Specs for the esc in the barrage. This is the Dynamite WP 60A FWD/REV Brushed Electronic Speed Control. This ESC is built to allow the user to operate it in many "wet conditions," including puddles, creeks, wet grass, snow and even rain. Features: 2-3S LiPo compatible 5-9 cell NiMH compatible Removable mounting tabs Crawler Mode Small footprint for mounting flexibility LiPo safety cutoff Specifications: Type: Brushed Constant/Peak: 60A/360A Resistance: 0.0008 Ohms Function: Forward/Brake/Reverse, Forward/Brake, Forward/Reverse (Crawler Mode) Vehicle Type: 1/10 on-road and off-road, 1/10 rock crawler Operation: Proportional forward, proportional reverse with braking delay, Crawler Mode Battery Type/Input Voltage: 2-3 Cell LiPo/LiFe, 5-9 Cell NiMH/NiCd Motor Type: 540/550 size closed endbell motors: 2S LiPo down to 8T; 3S LiPo down to 13T BEC Output: 5V/2A Overload Protection: Thermal Dimensions: 35.6x34x18mm (1.40x1.34x0.71in) Weight: 40g (1.41 oz) with wires Battery connector: EC3 Connector Motor connector: 3.5mm Tamiya-style bullet Note: While waterproof, this component has not been designed to be immersed in water for long periods of time and should NOT be treated like a submarine. Hope this answers your question. And if by chance it the motor burns up (mine did with the stock battery and the high stock spur/pinion ratio) you can get better motors like taxxas 380 motor and team brood makes nice ones too (little more money but worth it). Pick up a 12t-13t 48 pitch pinion for 1/16-1/18 scale it should help keep motor temps down. |

The weight will kill the spools before the voltage burns the motor ...

You will have way better performance and longer runtimes from a cheap 2000mah 2 cell lipo than a 2400mah 7 cell nimh....
