MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? I am new to crawling in general and have 2 good options MST CFX-W or the SCX 10.2. Which is going to give me the best performance? |

Neither of them and both of them. You question is very vague, so you really can't answer it. What are your expectations, what type of rig do you want, what kind of terrain do you have. The nice thing about this hobby is that no one rig is great at everything. Gives us all a chance to have multiple rigs, dialed in for different situations. |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? If you're new to crawling I'd suggest the SCX10-II. It is a great platform, simple mechanics, and flat out works. There is a ton of aftermarket support and most LHS's stock Axial parts. The MST uses superior materials from what I understand, but extra/replacement parts are harder to get and it's a fairly new platform. I'd get your feet wet with a known and proven platform in the Axial. Vaterra Ascender is another good options as well. |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? Between the two, definitely the SCX10.2, much more noob friendly with tons of parts and support. Definitely consider the Vaterra Ascender too. |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? Of the 2 - Vaterra and Axial which one is more scale? |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? Scale is such a loose word. Stock, both are scale enough with frame rails, chassis-mounted servos, list goes on. The bodies they come with aren't as scale, scx10.2 Jeep is such a big body, though the Ascender's Blazer is just as big or even bigger. Everyone and their mom already rocks a Jeep body on their crawler so the Blazer is something different. |

Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? Thanks guys. |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? If I could just get one it would be the scx10 II as its as well supported platform that has proven to work well. |
Re: MST CFX-W or SCX 10.2? Hands down the Axial SCX10 II Proven over the years and great aftermarket support! |
