Question Installing gmade XD PB shocks on Ascender

So I got an RTR ascender (the k5 Blazer) and have been slowly upgrading it and learning about how these things work.-I am new to rc scaling-
I just assembled some gmade piggyback XD shocks, and noticed that the ball joint at the low end of the shock is bigger than stock, and so it wont fit into the mount on the axle that it is supposed to share with the link from the skid plate.
What are some options for mounting this shock without things like a new axle???

This would be a good time to outboard your shocks, just get longer screws and some spacers and viola.

I don't believe it will fit. The end of the shock hits the knuckle. I will double check when I get home, but I think I found out I can't outboard.

If the shock shaft is the same like the stock one's you can try to swap to the stock rod ends.
I dont know if it will work cause i dont have this shocks or the ascender but its not bad to try.
