Default What wires for Tekin - Mamba X connection?

This really is a newbie question, please bear with me.

I have started to gather parts for a Yeti build and today I got my Tekin Pro4 HD. Nice! But how do I connect it to my Mamba X? I thought wires would be included with either the motor, or with the ESC, but no.

What kind of wires and connectors do I need to buy? I am placing an order with Tower Hobbies within the next couple of days and hope to get this in as well, but do not really know what to look for. Could I use any kind of electrical wire? What gauge will I need? Bullet connectors?

Links would be most appreciated, it's a jungle out there...

on the mamba x you have 4mm female bullet connectors, so u need 4mm bullet male too connect the 3 motor wires. as wire i'm not sure but 10 or 12 awg silicon wire should be ok.
castle has a set of 3 4mm connectors http://www.castlecreations.com/en/co...cc-bullets-4mm

Thanks! And then I just solder the wires directly to the motor? Maybe some heat shrink over the motor connections as well?

you don't need heat-shrink over the motor connections. They're spaced far enough apart not to have issues. Plus if you heat shrink over it, you'll just have that much more work when you unsolder in the future.

I would recommend that you put some heat-shrink over the bullet connectors though. On a crawler you'll probably never have an issue, but on other vehicles a hard crash could bend them together, or if you use it with a different ESC that has the bullets at the end of a wire, you'll want some isolation.

14 AWG will probably be ok in a crawler, but it seems a bit small to me. For something like a Tekin Pro4 HD, I'd use 12 AWG.

Do you think 12AWG will fit the bullets? Specification says they are for 13-16AWG.

It should. Worst case is you can cut away a few strands until it fits. As long as you solder it well, it will be fine.

as we are at soldering. easiesed way to solder bullets. drill a 4mm hole in a peace of wood, so the small hole on the side of the bullet is clear. than put bullet in and use a solder tip that fits the hole. fill the bullet half way with solder and then stick the wire in the fluid solder.
i managed 10 awg in 4mm bullets so 12awg should fit.
