My son has a Deadbolt and he really wants King shocks. I have seen different sizes. His crawler is all stock right now. May want to go with 2.2 tires (not sure if that matters) What size should I get? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Stay in 1.9 better. Here is the good King you need in your deadbolt https://www.amainhobbies.com/rc4wd-k...zd0063/p410261 These are the newest King in bigger OD. Bigger always the best Last edited by THX_138; 11-21-2017 at 11:20 PM. Reason: Merge, posts a minute apart |

Thank you for quick reply. So 100 mm. I know it's a different topic but why are 1.9 better?

He's going to have wheels that are too big for the vehicle if he upsizes to 2.2, more specifically too big for the wheelwells. Think of it this way - it's roughly a 10th scale truck, 1.9" is equal to running 19" wheels. 2.2" would be 22" wheels - or that "Mall Crawler" look... The tire would likely end up being too tall and fouling the fenders when cycling through the suspension and steering. If he wants a taller tire, there are plenty of different tires available that fit on a 1.9" wheel. Many of them are quite tall - the stock Axial Trepadors that come on the Deadbolt are 4.6". Most popular replacements are about 4.75" (Pro-Line TSL SX Super Swamper XL & Hyrax, PitBull Growler AT/Extra Scale, RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC, JConcepts Scorpios, etc) The Pro-Line Interco Boggers are 5.4"! |

Thanks for the tire info! That helps a lot. I think he just wants bigger (taller) tires. I will look into some taller ones you listed that will fit on current size rim

Shocks I'd stay close to stock 90mm, it will crawl much better than with longer 100mm shocks. | |

| Re: Shock advice Proline only offers them in 5.4" for 1.9"s (just picked up a set!)... but if he's got his heart set on Boggers, RC4WD offers Boggers in 4.79" RC4WD Interco Super Swamper 1.9" TSL/Bogger Scale Tire that should fit the bill, and they have (used to have?) their own unlicensed version called "Mud Slingers" in 3.66" Mud Slingers 1.9" Tires both for 1.9" wheels.
