Steering servo savox savsw0231mg Esc axial AE-5L Radio fly sky GT3B and matching GR3E receiver Axial 35T brushed motor So do I need a BEC and or Clitch buster also what Lipo do you recommend Was planning on running a 2s 5000mah 30c or greater and what brand. Thanks in advance. |

I would skip the Axial ESC, and go straight to a Hobbywing WP 1080, which aside from being more reliable also has a fairly strong BEC, so you wouldn't need an external one for that servo. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk |

Sounds like a pretty good setup! The 10.2 is a great rig, tons of aftermarket support and compatibility Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks guys. I will for sure get the 1080. Looks awesome and has a ton of features. So tha savox steering servo should be fine then. And what brand of battery. Don’t wanna spend too much but want one that will do good.

If you want a sealed can motor, I'd get the RC4WD 35T motor over the axial one. You can get one shipped for $10 and the performance would be equivalent. Also, if you want decent wheel speed and good low end grunt, 3S geared down is the way to go. With a 2S brushed system you really can only get either good low end grunt or decent wheel speed, not both. You should get better run time off 3S also so you won't need as many mah in your pack. What the newest cheap servo hotness? If you don't want to look through it, it seems quite a few people like the power hd 20 kg servo which would give you better performance and is cheaper. Also, if you don't mind doing your own waterproofing (or don't care about that), you can find cheaper options that also perform decently well. Last edited by THX_138; 02-24-2018 at 09:25 AM. Ok cool thanks Joe. So what gearing would you suggest. And what mah 3s. Thanks for all the help. It’s been 25 years since I have been in the rc scene. I use tonrace team associated rc10 when I was a kid. So kinda out of touch with all the new stuff.

In terms of battery mah, it depends on how much run time you want and how you use it. If you want a couple hours of runtime, you'd probably want at least 2500 mah. More only hurts in terms of weight and cost. | |

Canes3233, stick with stock gearing that comes with the kit for now. I'd also stick with 2S lipo to start out with then upgrade later on, if needed. I'm running a 2S with my RC4WD 35T motor and its a lot of fun! I went with the Gens Ace 2s LiPo Battery Pack 50C w/Deans Connector (7.4V/5000mAh) paired up with the, as before suggested, Hobbywing 1080 ESC with built in BEC. As far as a servo, I went with the Savox SV-1270TG that has about the best torque/speed for the buck |

I'm using $11 Turnigy 3s 2200mah lipo from Hobbyking (batteries can ship from the US if you choose it under "Shipped from" on the product page; here are some more choices), and a $12 JX 6221 servo (not the 360 degree one) from Banggood.
