Default Redcat Gen 7 and 3s lipo?

As the title states I have a Redcat Everest gen 7. I want to order a 3s lipo, but I’m concerned in doing so will hurt my low speed crawling ability. Does anyone know if that will happen or should I be fine?

Thanks, if anyone can help.

It could require a bit more restraint on your throttle finger, but should be otherwise ok. My one complaint with the Gen7 is that the truck requires a delicate touch as it is at low speeds, and 3S will amplify that problem, but you can turn your throttle rate down on the controller if you don't mind sacrificing some of your top end in order to get more low speed resolution.

Thanks Jim for the reply, see that is a great idea, but unfortunately the stock radio only has a throttle trim and not throttle rate control. Also I do agree it’s slightly sensitive even on the 6 cell nimh battery it comes with that’s why I’m worried about 3s even though I really want to go that route. Would using a smaller pinion gear help, if I feel it’s to sensitive at low speeds?

Using a smaller pinion would help. With most vehicles you want to gear it down when you go up in voltage. The added benefit of this is it will increase your torque at the wheels.
