Default SCX24 Questions

Two questions.

1.) What is the .5m spur conversion? I know it's metal, but that's about it...

2.) I have been seeing these conversions that look like mini Capra's. Is this a custom thing people are building or is there some sort of conversion kit?

The hot racing spur conversion is good for lightening your wallet maybe. The Spur is metal, but the pinion is plastic, and the gear ratio with this gear pitch has been said to be a little faster instead of slower. I honestly don't see a reason to get it.

As far as the capra, I haven't seen anything that I think looks like the actual capra other than being tube chassis, but IMO they don't look like a Capra.
Some have been scratch built, some come from toys. The most popular ones are from Shapeways. Specifically GamyRC, Mod19, and for older crawlers LynxMicroTech all searchable on Shapeways

Thanks for the reply!

I'll have to check out shapeways for those specific ones.

Very possible! I don't know the proper terminology yet. I keep seeing stretched out 24's with tube chassis. They look pretty sleek.

Edit: bgredjeep (sp?) Has the look I am talking about.

Like I said, there are a few tube chassis available, but IMO None of them look like the Capra from what I've seen. People have compared some of them to the Capra but the only similarity is that they are tubes. None of them look like a Capra IMO. There's one that's very similar to a Bomber which is similar to a Capra, but it's obviously based on a bomber not a Capra
