Lift Kit?

Is there an "off brand" long arm lift kit not made by Traxxas for the Trx-4 (yet)?

Or is Traxxas one of those companies that will sue you for your first born child if you attempt to recreate their products?

There's nothing special about the lift kit so, no, Traxxas won't sue over it.

Get longer shocks and longer links. You don't need no stinkin' kit.

But my question is why? The TRX-4, in any flavor, already has a high center of gravity. Raising it will make it worse and pretty much useless in any realm of climbing. I'd avoid the lift kit unless you want a mud bogger.

You don't even need longer links.

The long arm links are 4mm longer than the stock links. At worst, that is 1 Jato rod end on each of the lower links or even just a couple of turns out on the stock rod ends (depending on how much thread there is) to get the "long arm" setup.

The only part of the long arm kit that is worth considering is the drop servo/panhard mount to keep the steering geometry correct. Although, people who want huge suspension travel and giant tires usually aren't concerned with things like proper geometry.

Re: Lift Kit?

I was looking at it because I'm new and don't do the typical things with RCs. I currently have a slash body on my Trx-4 but if I flex too much I hit the body. I was kind of trying to avoid having to cut into it anymore. I'm not a hardcore crawler nor mud bigger nor speed racer. I'm just having fun. But obviously I wasn't it to work properly. So any advice with all that being said?

You can just look up the specifications for the kit and make your own out of Axial links or 4mm all-thread. If you want something different you just need to calculate the geometry, which is just a little bit of basic math. Or, just take the links off of your truck, set up the chassis and axles where you want them, take measurements and make your own; keep in mind that you also have to take into account the pan-hard bar and steering linkage.

But, unless you are making a monster-specific rig, raising the truck will do nothing but hurt stability and handling.

Which TRX4 do you have and what wheels and tires are you running?
