| Welder size.
I'm wanting to build a welder rig crawler. And I'm planning to have a portable lincoln welder 3d printed. I'm not trying to sound stupid but does it need to be 1/10 scale or will that be as big as the truck? Thanks for any help. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Well if your rig is 1/24 scale then ya a 1/10scale welder would be huge on the truck but if your rig is 1/10 scale than a 1/10scale welder should work out fine the only question i have is how your gona weld witb a 1/10th scale welder do you have 1/10 scale welding rod or a tiny spool of wire lol how many amps.is this w3lder gona draw are you running it off of 3s or 4s is it gona have its own battery or running off the rigs power lol can the lipos handle welding or do you have to use nicad or nimh what thickness metal can the welder handle will it weld the frame if needed or a shock hoop or a bunper bracket or dose it just weld sheetmetal lol I dont know but it sounds cool being able to weld on the trail would be trick lol |

I think you would need to get 3 9.6v nicad batterys from a tyco or nikko or newbright or whatever the AA sized packs wire them in series that would give you 28.8 volts plenty to weld with fab up some nice welding leads and your welding the problem is were to get scale welding rod maybe just cut down some 1/16 welding rod to about a inch its a bit out of scale but it should work just remeber your gona need a full sized welding helmet lol Just because its make belive dosent mean it cant still work Also old co2 cartages from a bb gun would make nice oxigen/acetylene tanks Ooohh maybe use the co2 for sheilding gas for the welder Last edited by ferp420; 06-20-2018 at 04:54 PM. |

Cool idea. Maybe use old earbud wires for the cables. Check the toy aisles for swords and such for cable ends.
